Gone but not forgotten
Revisit times gone by and see some of the 'golden oldies' that Jacksons used to have in their range - here are some tales of great success and some that maybe should have stayed in the closet!
We thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and look at the products that have now left the range. It gives an insight into what was fashionable in garden structures and fencing at the time. It's also an interesting view of Jacksons ability to move with the times and respond with flair and their usual attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
Please feel free to comment on these relics and let us know your favourites.
Email: louise.tomlin@jacksons-fencing.co.uk - at the end of the year we will assess the situation and see if there are some outstanding favourites that may even deserve to be revived for a special limited edition – no promises, but it will be interesting to see what you think!

The Chelsea, Wisley and Kew Arches.
The Chelsea and Wisley ran from 1997 to 2003.
The Kew arch continued being featured until 2009, although it still is available as the components are in the pergola system.

The Kew and Chelsea Arbours.
These lovely arbours ran from 1997 to 2003.
The Kew arbour continued being featured until 2009, although it still is available as the components are in the pergola system.

The Bath and Chester Mini Arbours.
These cute small arbours ran from 1997 to 2002.

The Gazebo.
The picture on the left was the original Gazebo created in 1999 and was discontinued in 2000/2001.
Another Gazebo emerged in 2007, a simpler version that lasted until 2010.

The Jubilee Arcade arrived as a celebration piece for the Golden Jubilee in 2003. It was only available for the year as a limited edition, but was a striking structure.

Decorative trellis panels arrived in 2001 and disappeared from the scene in 2003/2004. They were an 'in-between' panel, designed to sit between solid panels, giving a glimpse of what's beyond, almost like a window.

The famous Jacksons Obelisk was introduced in 1998 and was cut from the range with a thinning out of the Secret Garden Collection in 2003. It has come back as recently as 2010 as a limited edition, due to it's popularity with customers.
There are two new style Obelisks available from Jacksons. Have a look at the links below and see which ones you prefer and let us know.

New Obelisk version 2

The Colonnade - The picture on the left shows this interesting arch, that was put together using standard Jacksons products that creates quite an impressive archway. Introduced in 2001, out 2003.
The Corner Arbour was introduced in 1999 and removed in 2003.

The Villandry arbour was dubbed the 'jewel in the crown' of the Secret Garden Collection when it was introduced in 1998 and discontinued in 2003.
This impressive structure was a hefty 2.5m high, 2.75m wide and 2.65m deep and was considered the signature piece of the company showing Jacksons quality and high level of craftsmanship.
The Villandry was inspired by arbours at the garden of Villandry in France.

The Anniversary Swing Seat - Was designed as a celebratory piece for Jacksons 60th anniversary back in 2007, which was a limited edition just for the year.
Mini Obelisks - As popular in their time as their big brother, these little obelisks came complete with their own mini planter and were ideal for the smaller garden. Introduced in 1999 and removed in 2001.

Sunbeam panels.
These were introduced in 1998 and discontinued in 2003, one of Jacksons first semi-solid panels, not quite trellis and not full panel either. Called Sunbeam because they were good for letting light through and offered much less wind resistance.

Diamond Panels.
These were also introduced in 1998 and discontinued in 2003 - another one of Jacksons first semi-solid panels. They created rather impressive patterns when used in a run.
